Everybody has a favorite moment in their life. Many cherish it and keep it locked in their mind to pull out whenever life gets a little dull. Favorite moments build connections and friendships, but it’s even better when you get to have a favorite moment with your teammates. Stafford athletes have created some of their favorite memories together on their sports teams. After playing together for so many years, these seniors deserve a round of applause.
Michael Creamer 12th grade (Football)
“My favorite moment would have to be when we beat forge for the first time in over a decade in the final seconds of the football game.”
Kamron Panyard 12th grade (Football)
“My favorite moment was beating north for the first time my junior year and bringing back the bell and beating forge my senior year for the first time in like 17 years.”
Angela Dreistadt 12th grade (Softball)
“My favorite senior sports memory would be all the team dinners we have had, especially the one we did at my house. I felt like we all just got to hangout and spend time with one another, which we never get to do. It’s always softball, softball, softball, but that night we got to relax and truly just be ourselves. We had some amazing food, played so many games, just danced mainly and it was so much fun. I’ve loved all the girls I have had the chance to play with, but I think this might be my favorite group!”
Linnea Rouse 12th grade (Volleyball)
“My favorite moment of the season was definitely Senior Night. It was a night full of emotions and a reminder of how much this team has meant to me over the years. Walking out there for the last time with my teammates, knowing this chapter of high school was ending, felt surreal. It was amazing to have everyone’s support, my friends, coaches, and family, and to look back on all the memories we’ve made.”
Keegan King 12th grade (basketball)
“My favorite moment from this season is when we played against Freedom and we won, it was the first game and the first time I started. It meant everything to me. I worked a lot during the summer. I put in a lot of overtime to get into that position, so I was happy to get a lot of playing time and see us winning.”
Jonathan Beck 12th grade (Swim)
“My favorite moment was cheering on the side of the pool with my friends. I was on one of the relay teams that went to regionals this year so that was very significant for me being on that team!”
Cori Baker-O Loughlin 12th grade (Swim)
“I have less of just one favorite moment and more of a favorite aspect within it being my senior year. My entire senior night was just so fun and really memorable. How the team treated me and exempted me and how they were so welcoming and friendly, that was my favorite part about swim.”
Julia Etu 12th grade (Lacrosse)
“My favorite moment from high school lacrosse was definitely when we won the district championship my sophomore year. We were definitely underdogs and we weren’t expected to win. It was such a competitive game and it was a good season because we had lost to that team both times in the regular season and then we came out and ended up beating them in the district championships. It was the first district championship in school history.”
Karlie Schalk 12th grade (Lacrosse)
“My favorite moment is probably just every practice and getting to be with my best friends every day.”
Emma Miller 12th grade (Lacrosse)
“My favorite moment throughout my 4 years of lacrosse was definitely my sophomore year season when we made it to districts and we won districts. After my teammate scored the game’s winning goal we all dog-piled on each other and everyone was so excited. It was so much fun, it was the best team and the best game!”
Dalton Gallahan 12th grade (Cheer)
“A time that I would love to share about my cheer career is when I won states the second time around. We were in the hardest region in the state, and we were going against our biggest competitors and we had recently placed second at regionals against Colgan so going to states was a little nerve racking. We went out on the mat, and did absolutely amazing, and then we found out that we made it to the second round, we knew we had to go out there and absolutely destroy the competition. We went out there, did the best we could and when they called our name for first, we were absolutely thrilled because we weren’t really sure what the turnout was going to be. That had to be the most exciting moment of my cheer career here at Stafford.”
Tyler Francis-Freel 12th grade (Track and Field)
“One of the best moments in track was either doing core every day before warm-ups, or one of the meets while seeing my teammates PR for districts.”
Bryant Miller 12th grade (Track and Field)
“One of my favorite moments had to be the bus rides back from good meets with my teammates the first couple of years.”
