Football: Stafford 38, Mountain View 0
Stafford Football faced off against the Mountain View Wildcats. The Indians shut out the Wildcats ending the regular season with a bang. The Indians will now advance to the regional playoff, the first time since 2017.
Our Take:
The Indians finally making it to the regional playoff is a huge achievement for the program. The Indians had a drastic shift in the coaching staff just a few years ago but it appears to be paying off now.
Field Hockey: Region Champs
This week our Field Hockey Indians took home the regional championship. They defeated the North Stafford Wolverines 4-1. This was the fourth time the team beat the Wolverines this season.
Stats:
Hailey Lemke goals (2)
Emily Jackson goals (1)
Jenna Chase goals (1)
Our Take:
This is a huge achievement for the girls keeping their undefeated streak alive. The team has a very strong core of starting seniors Hailey Lemke, Maddison Patton, Jenna Chase, Julia Etu. But the team’s underclassman supporting cast has also been an integral part of this run.
Cheer: State Seconds
Our relentless cheer team competed in the VHSL State Cheerleading Competition at the Virginia Commonwealth University Siegel Center on Saturday, November 9th. After coming into the competition as the triumphant Region 6B Champions, the Indians finished as the Class 6 Runner-ups. This is their fourth consecutive year finishing in the top two spot, meaning current seniors who were on the Gold team as Freshmen have never finished their season without taking home a trophy. After winning second place in the 2021-2022 season and back-to-back State Champion titles from their 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons, our cheerleaders have made an impressive impact in the world of VHSL cheer. Although our cheerleading team did not take home a ‘3-peat’, these girls and boys certainly left everything on the mat after having watched their round 2 performance available on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0vw5LW7Ii8
Our Take:
This team is one of the most disciplined in the county and despite having a great sum of leaders leaving when they graduate in May 2025, our cheerleading coaches have cultivated a bright outlook of rising underclassmen to fill their shoes for next year. They have tons of young talent and are still distended for domination, the noise and distraction placed in their path being nothing but whispers to this unwavering team. Still, they will drown out adversity to strive to bring home that Championship title next year.
