Holiday Buzz
By Lev Ilivaris
Festive music plays in the background
The chatter of family heard over the sound
Children peek at presents and guess what’s inside
Scolded by their parents, they run off and hide
People have gathered from every corner of the
Earth-
Now they huddle together beside the hearth
A rare occurrence, everyone together in one place
It’s a feeling no other can replace
Free From Snow
By Gracie Hamilton
Snowflakes dance in distant lands,
A winter wonder, not in our plans.
Here we wait with hopeful glee,
But alas, no snow for you and me.
No frosty flakes, some icy bliss,
Our hopes for snow devastatingly missed.
In our jackets warm, we wait to roam,
In this home, free of snow.
