“I’m sorry… you’re a what now?” I questioned 

“*sigh* For the third time now…I’m..A VAMPIRE!!!! Jeez..here I’ll spell it out! V-A-M-P-I-R—!!!!” a voice shouted back at me 

I interrupted her 

“OKAY I GET IT!!…just..give me a moment to think.” 

She huffed at me 

I can’t believe this…I just saw her sitting outside in the snowstorm. I didn’t know she was freaking nutcase otherwise I would have never invited her inside……It would be rude if I just kicked her out..so I guess I’ll have to go along with it. 

“What’s a…’vampire’…doing out here during the holidays?” I asked 

“Why do you humans always think we’re s’pose to be limited to Halloween?” 

she replied 

“I never said anything about Halloween. I was just curious because I thought vampires didn’t like things…related to Christ?” I followed 

“Ehh…that’s more of a medieval times thing. We’ve moved on from that.” she assured “Oh…I’m sorry for assuming…So why were you just sitting out in the blizzard?” I wondered She remained quiet for a moment almost as if she was hesitant to answer. She then took a deep breath and spoke. 

“Christmas is a wonderful time of year for us vampires. It’s a time when families meet up which makes it easy pickings for us.” She responded 

“But I became curious and started wondering what exactly made Christmas so special to you humans.” she followed 

“So initially you were waiting to ambush someone…” I mumbled 

The room fell into silence for a hot minute. So I decided to break it. 

“If you want…I don’t really mind if you want to celebrate Christmas with me. Only if you’re fine with it of course.” I offered 

Her face had begun to glow with a big beaming smile. 

“I’d love that. But what about your family?” she asked 

“I’ll just say I have to work tomorrow.” I responded 

She had stayed the night at my apartment and when I woke up the next morning I had made an astonishing discovery. I rushed out of my room. 

“YOU WEREN’T LYING!!!?” I shouted 

“Augh!!! Don’t startle me like that!” she angrily said 

“WHAT IS THIS!?” I pointed to the two circular holes on my neck 

“Uhhhh…..I probably should have asked you first. They should heal later today if that’s what you’re worried about.” she nervously replied 

Our bickering lasted for a long while after that and although my first Christmas with a vampire was a rough one to get used to. It was not the last one I celebrated with her.
