Boys Soccer: King George Conquered
This week, the boys soccer team came out on top with a 2-1 victory over the King George High School Foxes. The Indians were leading 1-0 before King George scored a goal to force overtime. Fortunately, in the first period of overtime team captain, James Clayberg, scored the winning goal for the Indians.

Our Take:
Boys soccer collects its first win against a fairly strong King Geroge team to move their record to 1-3-1. The team has had a big culture and are starting to see results. It is vital that the team finds an in-district game win soon to keep a playoff push going.

Girls Lacrosse: An Undefeated week
Girls Lacrosse had two games this week both ending in wins. The team took on the Riverbend Bears at home and defeated them 19-13. Senior Julia Etu led the scoring with 6 Goals. The team later that week traveled to Massaponax and triumphed 14-4 with Etu scoring her 200th goal.

Our Take:
This year’s team has tons of fire power with players like Julia Etu and EV McConnell scoring most of the goals each game. However, defense wins championships and the team is loaded with steller defenders such as Senior Karlie Schalk and Junior Maddy Ryan working to keep the goal safe.
Baseball: Extra Inning Fight
The Stafford High School Baseball team took on the Albemarle Patriots this week: the game was very close all day in a back and forth thriller. Staffords Pitchers combined their efforts for 12 strikeouts on the night. The Indians were down 7-4 but would score three to force extra innings. Unfortunately the efforts weren’t enough, Albarmarle would end up winning 8-7.

The team is keeping all of their games very close which shows this team has grit. They’ve had a strong start to the season and we will see how the mid-season grind treats them.
Boys Lacrosse: Dominant Week
Boys lacrosse had two games this week, first they faced off against the Riverbend Bears and won 8-5. They then Defeated the Massaponax Panthers in a dominant victory 7-0.
Our Take:
The team has improved greatly this year Even with the coaching change the team seems to be adapting well. We will see how they continue to play against the top Lacrosse teams in our district: Colonial Forge and Mountain View.
