On February 6, 2025, the Stafford Indians faced off against the Mountain View Wildcats, and top performer Jackson Wallace accomplished something unbelievably great. Wallace scored his 1,000th point for Stafford, which is remarkable in itself, but even more impressive when you consider he did it as a junior.
Being an athlete myself, having an achievement as impressive as that would be amazing. It changes an athlete’s reputation on and off the court. You get to go down in the history books, college coaches are going to be fighting over you, bragging rights, and you get to tell your kids one day how good their dad or mom was at their sport of choice. Athlete or not, 1,000 is a pretty big number. And if you heard that someone got 1,000 points, you’d be pretty darn impressed.

When you know you’re close to something that you’ve dreamed about, you would do anything to achieve it as soon as possible. And that’s exactly what Jackson did.
“I was definitely aware of being super close to the goal before the game even started. It was only 17 points, and I for sure knew it was accomplishable. I took advantage of every scoring opportunity by creating my own shots and playing to my own pace,” said Junior Jackson Wallace.
Jackson made Varsity his freshman year, which is impressive for any sport. Sophomore year, Jackson’s impact on the team took no breaks, and he earned Player of the Year. Junior year, he scored his 1000th point for Stafford.
It’s no secret that Jackson has many achievements, it being his junior year with many individual accolades. Jackson wants to do what every athlete dreams of: leading a team to a championship.
“My goal for senior year is to have a positive winning season and aim for a championship. I know we’re capable of doing it, and I believe if we all think the same way, victory is ours,” Wallace said when asked about achieving one more goal before he graduates.
Jackson isn’t planning to be done with basketball as soon as he tosses his graduation cap in the air, as he plans for his future in basketball.
“My dream is to make it to the NBA, but wherever God puts me, I’ll be happy with that. I started aiming for this goal in 6th grade when I was one of the few people to make the A team at Dixon Smith Middle School,” Jackson shared.
Jackson Wallace’s journey is an inspiration, showing off a lot of dedication and talent from a young age. His 1000-point milestone is a testament to his hard work. With the 1000-point milestone behind him Jackson will continue to chase bigger dreams both on the court and beyond. His hard work is just proof that if you put your mind to it, anything is possible.
Jackson Wallace says to anyone who wants to reach a goal that seems impossible “Don’t forget there’s light at the end of the tunnel.”
