The team has started the season off strong. Jackson Wallace has been a key player, as a scorer and a play maker. However, we can’t ignore the fact that he’s been well supported by a strong, skilled team. As the season progresses, the team’s success will likely depend on maintaining this balanced effort across all players.
Girl’s Basketball: Promising beginnings
The Stafford High School girl’s basketball team broke even in their first few games this year with a 1-1 record. The team had a turbulent start with a loss to Alexandria City (51-38). Later in the week, the Indians bounced back with a win against Eastern View (56-42). The victory was led by Kalaia Handy and Olivia Ferguson as top scorers, as well as Sanaa Jenkins with 13 rebounds.

Our Take:
The team has set itself up for a promising season, looking to improve last year’s 2-15 record. A win in the next game would match their season total from last year, giving them momentum to build on as they look toward the rest of the season.

This is an excellent start of the season for both teams. The boys with dominant victories in all three matches is a sign of good things to come. As well as the girls with very strong finishes. We will see if the team can continue to exhibit this strength.
